The Cutting Edge of Fashion
April 16 - August 14, 2005
Selected from the Armand Hammer Daumier and Contemporaries Collection.

About the exhibition

The Cutting Edge of Fashion pokes fun at the modes of the day in Paris, the nineteenth-century capital of elegant dress. Daumier's caricatures highlight the prevalent styles for men and women as well as mock some of the unwieldy and challenging designs of women's haute couture.
